The area is blessed with numerous sports and leisure activities. Rutland water and Pitsford reservoir offer Fly fishing, Sailing, Cycle hire and Birdwatching. Whilst Eyebrook reservoir, 2 miles away offers Fly fishing exclusively, all 3 reservoirs offer fishing boat hire.

Nevill Holt, a former and very grand private school, now hosts regular Operatic performances organised by Grange Park Opera.

Lovers of history will not be disappointed either with Rockingham Castle, Burghley House, Belvoir Castle and Althorp House, which are all within a short drive. The more local sights of Boughton House, Kirby Hall and Deene Hall are also worth a visit.

Weekend fayre`s are held regularly at Kelmarsh Hall on the outskirts of Market Harborough whilst Foxton Locks attracts the waterway and boating enthusiasts to its lovingly restored site.

The Horse and Trumpet just across the road is renowned for its fine cusine, whilst the Nevill Arms just next door serves food each lunch time and evening.
